If the walls of this building could talk, it might take you a few rounds or even a few trips back to hear all the stories they could tell.

The Imperial Bar was first established in 1891 as the Missouri Saloon and quickly changing names to the Louvre. This building has been in the business of good times and great spirits for over 130-years. Similar to the patrons of “olden day”, this building has survived fires, shootouts and bar fights.

J.J. Stocker opened the Imperial Saloon and Bar in 1914. It wasn’t until after the second prohibition in 1933 that the building was added on to by Stocker and got its modern day appearance.

Take one step into the Imperial and you will see why it is a local favorite. Adorned with modern updates yet obvious historic roots, the building’s tin-stamped ceilings and décor harken back to a rough and pioneering time. You will be greeted and served by Juneau’s best, excited to tell you about the current day city, and share stories about the thrilling days of yesteryear as you settle into some first rate food and drink!

Stop by for a shot, a pint, a mug…and ask our bartender to entertain you with the history of this amazing bar!
